5 Great Wargaming Podcast You Should Listen To

Today I’d like to bring to your attention some of the best historical wargaming podcast out there in my opinion. I enjoy all of these and recommend you give them a listen, and am not affiliated with any of them, they are just my personal favorites. If you haven’t already, maybe you will try a couple of them out after reading this article. Again, this is just personal favorites, not a comprehensive list. For example, I have not ever listened to the Yarkshire Gamer, so I can’t recommend him . . . yet. I hope you enjoy!!

Wargames: Soldiers & Strategy Podcast

After being a subscriber to the WS&S magazine for a while, I realized that they also have a podcast. The group includes the editor, and multiple common contributors to the magazine. The chemistry is great, and I love their British charm. They always give a good rundown of the latest hobby news before concisely discussing a topic. Definitely give them a listen.

God’s Own Scale

My favorite long-form podcast out there. I typically do not like to listen to a podcast for 2+ hours, but God’s Own Scale keeps me entertained. His interviews are top-notch, and they are always fascinating conversations. I really enjoy that he focuses on those smaller scales, and recognizes the Greatest, 6mm. Whether or not you like long podcast, you need to check this out.

No Dice No Glory

I will admit, I have not listened to much of this podcast yet. The couple episodes I’ve listen to have been great, and I’m looking forward to checking out more.

Little Wars FM

If you have seen my article on my favorite wargaming YouTube channels here, Little War TV is my favorite gaming YouTube channel, but they also have a great podcast. While most of the episodes are only for patrons, a couple dozen are available for free. They have a great series on game design, and a couple episodes on playing campaigns, but the episode about scenario design is one of my favorite podcast episodes, period.

Anything But A One

The guys at Anything But A One are such a great time to listen to, and they are definitely my favorite gaming podcast. The group dynamic between Tom, Rich, and Ray is so fun, and they are a hoot to listen to. They have a lot of good insights, and come at things from a very different angle than I normally would. They talk about a massive variety of topics, so you won’t get bored. I am a huge fan and have listened to almost every episode, and would urge you all to do the same.

Conclusion

I hope this encourages you to give these guys a listen. This article leads into one of my future projects, starting a Brushes & Bayonets Podcast! We are hard at work getting our first few episodes recorded and edited, and I will keep you guys updated.
