Hobby Update 1/9/24

I got a few things done this week, including preparing to finally get my 10mm AWI guys on the table on Thursday!! I spent a lot of time playing around with my new airbrush this week, and it has been frustrating, but I think I’m getting the hang of it. I’ve just been trying to prime and basecoat, but keeping it unclogged has been a struggle.

What have I been Painting?

Two new tercios off the assembly line this week! I now have enough for White Mountain, which is my first milestone.

Some snake rail fences for my AWI games, I’ve been told I will never have enough of this, which does seem to be true, it was everywhere during early American history. And some cuirrasiers and arquebusiers I’ve started working on, in various stages of priming and drybrushing.

What have I been Playing?

I played an excellent game of SAGA at my club on Thursday, and had the opportunity to try out playing Scots, which I really enjoyed. I had a good time with the playstlye of the Scots, and am tempted to buy some of my own.

I also playtested my Thirty Years War rules that I’m working on, on a very ugly board with just labeled bases. Despite it not being pretty, we still had a great time. We played the battle of Breitenfeld, and it came down to the last die roll! If you are interested in playtesting the rules, you are welcome to, please get in contact with me and I will send them to you.
